Tips for Using Your Debit Card

  • Due to the large number of fraudulent debit card transactions, please contact Farmway Credit Union before traveling out of state or out of the country.

  • When paying with your debit card at outside fuel pumps or other point-of-sale locations you may have a larger amount held by that merchant.

  • We encourage you to pay inside when purchasing fuel out-of-state, due to certain out-of-state restrictions.

  • For your protection, Farmway Credit Union has blocked all foreign transactions.

  • It is important to always know your current share draft (checking) account balance. Remember some share drafts (checks) may NOT have cleared your account.

  • Always keep your receipts. Record your transactions in your register as soon as possible. Remember to deduct ATM fees that may be incurred for using an ATM.

  • Carefully review your monthly statements. If you suspect any mistakes, please call us as soon as possible so we can help resolve the problem.

  • Secure EMV chip cards now offer more protection against fraud. Unlike magnetic-stripe cards, every time an EMV card is used for payment, the card chip creates a unique transaction code that cannot be used again.

  • We offer 24/7 fraud detection on all debit cards. Our fraud department, SecurLOCK Services, may contact you to verify a purchase.

  • If your card is lost or stolen, contact us immediately at (800)530-5154 Monday thru Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. After credit union business hours, contact SecurLOCK Services at (888)263-3370.

  • To validate your card activity with SecurLOCK Services contact (855)961-1602. Reporting fraud quickly can help ensure that you are not liable for fraudulent transactions.
